Tjernlund AQ1 Aquastar Horizontal Power Vent Package

The AquaStar Power Vent Kit Is specially manufactured by Tjernlund Products, Inc.  The Kit Is designed to allow horizontal venting and direct termination on an outside wall. A gas pressure sensor switch turns on the vent fan as soon as the AquaStars burners activate. The blower fan exhausts flue gases to the outside. The fan accepts 4 inch vent pipe. The vent pipe connectors on the AquaStar's are 4 inch for the model 80, 5 Inch for the model 125 and 6 inch for the model 170. A step down adapter must be used to make the transition. Vent piping between the AquaStar and the fan unit can be either 4 inch or the same as is on the top of the specific model AquaStar being vented.   The Kit can vent up to 100' horizontally with a single elbow. Subtract 10' for each additional elbow.

For safety, the Kit includes alinear spillage sensor switch to shut off all gas to the heater should the flue gases fail to vent for any reason. Control circuitry between the gas flow sensor and the fan unit are at 24 volts. The Vent Kit components are UL approved. The AquaStar is AGA approved.

The Power Vent spillage sensor switch will not work on an AquaStar 170 with a High Temperature Harness. This configuration requires a separate 24 volt solenoid gas switch before the heater.
